Phytochemicals

I was looking into buying a new juicer, the Omegas 8005, but thought maybe a good 3hp blender instead. I can't afford both right now. I was wondering if anyone had any information on phytochemicals. I have been searching the Web trying to get more info, but haven't found a ton. My question is in specifically if phytochemicals are found in the fiber of fruits and vegetables. I was reading an interview with Dr. Bob Arnot and he said that when you juice veggies you lose the phytochemicals and it's better off blending them. I have read the same thing from a couple other doctors. On the other hand, almost all sites giving info on juicing talk about how juicing gives you enzymes and phytochemicals, and heating destroys them. It was getting a little confusing, and wanted more info before I make a purchase.

phytochemicals are real. It is far better to eat the vegatable with the fiber than just juicing it. To get the phytochemicals out of the green leaves without cooking them, you need to blend them with a high power blender such as the vatamix and total blender. Juicing is still important for a quick burst of energy but it is critical to add green smoothies to your diet to benefit from the fiber and phytochemicals.

Thanks for the reply. I have been to qigong.com already. I will look into The book for sure. In the interim will my cheap blender be okay or is it not powerful enough?

Cheap blender cannot break down the green leaves for easy absorption. You can use cheap bleader on fruit or soft vegetable but if you want to blend greens you need a high speed blender such as vatamix or the total blender.
