I just bought another Juicer.

I thought it was time to replace my Omega 8003. There are
several things to like about the upgrade....the Omega 8004.
For those of you who have the Omega 8006, the 8004 is the
same juicer, except it's white in color, rather than Black-
and-Chrome, and $40 less in cost. The 8004 was not available
when the 8006 was unveiled last year....probably a marketing
ploy to sell more of the higher priced 8006.
The 8004 (and 8006) has GE's Ultem auger, made from a Resin
that is 8-times harder than previous plastic augers....which
makes it 'stone-like'.
The 8004 has a larger Juice tub and catch bin than the 8003. It
was annoying having to stop the 8003 and empty the pulp, or pour
off some of the juice.
I ordered from John Kohler at DiscountJuicers.com.....the sponsor
of these Forums. Use coupon code TENSPOT and get $10 off....making
the total $249. The following link is not John's site, but describes
the 8004 quite well......WY

Well, I've been using the 8006, and if the 8004 is the same machine except for color then that sounds like a real winner. Please let us know how you find it. Does the fact that it's white mean the casing is plastic instead of chrome? For $40 that sounds like a deal I would have taken!

Yes, it's white plastic, but it's good quality that
Omega Juicers are noted for.
I tried the Omega BMJ330 (centrifugal), and the Omega VRT330
(vertical single-auger), but didn't like either one of those.
If anyone here is needy, and doesn't have a juicer, and would
like to start juicing....PM me your story, and I'll give you
my old Omega 8003.....WY

WHAT IS THE ADVANTAGE OF A HARDER AUGER?

Ron, I think earlier models had an issue with the auger coming off in little pieces since it was made in plastic. I have the Omega 8006 and I haven't had any issue whatsoever. The trick is to make sure it clicks in place...

is the motor still good on the 8003? If so, why spend $249 for a new juicer instead of upgrading the auger and keeping the old motor for $60? [www.omegajuicers.com].

p.s. posting on this under another thread below. I just upgraded my VERT to a VERT 330 HD.

I have an 8003 and have had no issues with the auger even though i juice heavily twice a day. Does the harder auger juice any better?

maybe not, esp if your fruits and veggies are not hard. The older plastic that used in the 8003 and 8005 is made of melamine. The newer plastic used in the 8004 and 8006 is Ultem which is marketed to be 8 times harder than the melamine. But does it perform any better? Good question. Maybe after WY gets his 8004, he can tell us if he perceives any difference in the juice.

If there is any difference, it's subtle. However, I wouldn't
want to use the old Auger, knowing there was a newer, and better, one
at an affordable price.
That being said, I've decided to give up Juicing in favor of Blending.
I love the way a Green Smoothie makes me feel, and works through my Body.....WY

well sounds like you have both great blenders and juicers in case you ever want to go back to juicing. I've often wanted to see an 8004 close up. I've got a VRt and a Twin Gear so have never had a chance to operate the horizontal single auger. I'm told they are great.

I'm still up at 2:30am from the Green Smoothie I had at 6pm. I see now why the last meal of the day should be between Noon and 4pm.
Ingredients??....Fruit and Greens and Sprouts....heavy on the Greens.....WY

des....I no longer have my Omega 8003, or I would have sent it to you. I do have an extra Omega 4000, but it is a centrifugal, and won't juice Greens.
I think it wise to shift focus from Juicing to Blending. Blending is capable
of producing a 'complete meal', whereas Juicing isn't (except maybe for Wheatgrass Juice).....WY
