greenstar value!
Posted by: juicin' john ()

after long a careful consideration, i have decided that for the benefit of those who are seeking information about juicers, i need to make the following statement.

anyone who is sincerely interested in juicing and the benefits thereof.....
who does not use the twin gear juicer design, is literally throwing their "juicing dollars" ( and time) down into the garbage disposal.

no other machine offers the versatility, efficiancy, and quality of juice that this wonderful machine returns to those who use it.

i just got done making a 1 quart container of:

watermelon (one big round slice which i cut into large cubes with some of the rind)
pear (1)
apple (1)
lemon (1/2)

the pulp was almost completely dry and i fit all of the pulp into the palm of my hand. volume-wise less than a cup. (if i compressed it into a cup)

all the discussion here about the best juicer has prompted me to finally speak out and declare the truth to all who are concerned.

this afternoon i will go out and pick some alfalfa and red clover and juice them with some apple and ginger to make it more palatable. I don't think any other machine can do what this thing does!!

maybe because it is day 6 of my juice fast that i'm so pumped .... but greenstar never cease to amaze me with what it does.

juice-on ....and on...and on brothers and sisters... juice onnnnnn. yes!!!!!

thanks

Hi juicin' john!

I appreciate your enthusiasm! You are the kind of person that I like to be around, one that is truly into their health.

I had a twin gear Green Power around 10-11 years ago. I sold it to fund (partially) the purchase of my Norwalk. I wish I would have kept it, it was a top notch juicer. Not to say I'm not happy with my Norwalk, because I definantly am.

I just like to have a collection of juicers, I guess! For now, I am very pleased with the Norwalk & Samson 6 in 1 that I own, but I do foresee a Greenstar in my future some day!

Oh yes, and Juice on!!!

Hi john,

The only thing I would say about that recipe is to put it in the Juiceman's words - (Jay Kordich) "Melons alone or leave them alone". Apparently melons have their own unique enzyme structure that causes a clash when mixed with other fruits/veggies. He even says not to mix one melon w/ another type of melon.

Just throwin' that out there...

I notice that you like to experiment (Like myself!) that is cool!

hey juicin john

u know that I am also a big greenstar fan

i love it
it is a very good friend o mine

i think i will give it a hug

it DEFINETELY juices the greens

does a darn good job

for this i give it maximum credit

you are absolutely right

cuz i have had QUITE a bit of experience with the centrifugals as well

but the greenstar ( and probably other twin augers) do leave the pulp TOTALLY dry

at least for the greens ( I'm not a real big fan of juicing fruits cuz I actually think its not that easy to juice fruits, it gets all mushy for me)

but i DO juice the greens and it does a dream

whereas in the centrifugals, the greens would mostly float to the top and the pulp would be really moist and i knew i was wasting a LOT of the vegetables

but i think the centrifugals are good for the hard stuff and faster too

like for beets etc.

Ok, this thread is NOT helping my excitement!! *LOL* My Green Star 2000 is not scheduled to arrive until FRIDAY and it's driving me nuts 'cus I can't wait to try it !!! After all the extensive research (and experimentation) over the last 4 months, along with Juicin' John's excellent advice, I ordered the GS, but now I have to wait and suffer through my SLOOOOOW Samson and wasteful Jack LaLanne until it finally ARRIVES !!! Somebody HOLD ME DOWN !!! *LOL*

Thanks JJ for the pictures and video of the
new GreenStar Elite. The bigger gears and screen should
make for an even more efficient Juicer.....WY

i know...it really looks neat...kinda reminds me of the nike swoosh.

i haven't seen anything on the price except in euro currency but that may not accurately reflect what the u.s. pricing will be. i would guess that the u.s. price will soon be known.

I saw one price of 529 EUR. Converting that
to Dollars, it comes out to be $775. If you buy one JJ,
let us know how you like it.
It might be nice to have one Juicer that does-it-all,
rather than the three I'm now using.....WY

That would be best for juicing a large amount.
I'm in the habit now of having 12-16 ounces of Celery
Juice at midday. I wouldn't want to have to clean a
GreenStar. I use my Omega 8003....it's easy juicing with
quick cleanup....WY

I've owned the Omega 8005 but ended up giving it to my brother as I didn't care for it much. To each their own....

clean up with the green star is a snap!

everything basically rinses off except for the gears which are really easy to brush and the screen which is the only part which requires any scrubbing. not only that ....but you can leave the juicer all day and juice when you want to and then clean it at the end of the day.... i run a cup of water through it when i do that and it keeps very well till the end of the day when i clean it up for the next days use.

this is the easiest to clean juicer i ever owned...omega 8005 is simply put....a handcranker with a motor.

I agree with you, John. My GS is a snap to clean. Rinses clean with plain water and I never have to scrub my gears with the brush. They always rinse clean. I have to use the brush on the screen because I use the fine screen, but it only take a a few seconds and it's clean as a whistle. I can use mine fast and quickly now that I've gotten the hang of it. Can't thank you enough (again), John, for your excellent and patient advice and direction. Both hubby and I have been VERY pleased and happy with our GS juicer! I am continually amazed at how MUCH produce I put through the thing and how LITTLE - completely DRY - pulp comes out the other end!! Astounding!!

Let us know when you get the Elite. It looks like a "space ship!" *LOL* I'm curious to know what differences there are, if any, from the other models.

Thanks again. =)

The biggest difference is the Elite is the first 3 stage juicer; 1.crushing 2.mixing 3.pressing whereas previous GS modules are 2 stage; 1. Crushing 2. Pressing.

I recieved the Elite today and just got done using it and, BTW, it is awesome. Very happy I made the purchase. The firstdifference I noticed from the previous model was that I was able to juice a huge cucumber without it getting backed up, if you own a GS you know what I'm talking about.

I've owned several juicers and like the Greenstar the best, even better than the Norwalk. When I owned the Norwalk, green juices would come out warm because it's a higher revolution machine than the Greenstar. I feel that a low revolution machine like the Greenstar is the best for preserving nutrients and enzymes.
