The Green Star I ordered is due via FedEx tomorrow. I've been following its journey via the tracking number and website. I hope it arrives tomorrow! Sometimes things get slowed down...

It is Fun to have a 'friendly' argument. There are a couple
of people here who are 'hotheaded', and/or take things too seriously,
but the majority are 'Cool'. PD...you're one of the cool ones.
I can only come to you with the experience I have after many years of
juicing. I've owned two twin-gear juicers, and used a third....GreenLife (older
brother to the GreenStar)....Samson Ultra (small twin-gears)....and the Omega
8000 (discontinued large twin-gears).
Juicing should be a pleasant experience, bordering on Spiritual. I'll take
another opportunity here to say 'I told you so'. LOL. When I was juicing with
a twin-gear, all I wanted to do was Scream......WY

WY - I completely agree with you. Love talking to the "cool" folks who are logical and sensible, but can also have a little fun - especially if they can laugh at themselves (something I spend ALOT of time doing!! *LOL*)

Why would you "scream" at 2 gears? I missed something. I re-read the thread and realized that you are voting AGAINST the GreenStar? Can you tell me why? I know you'll give me a completely honest and candid answer. My GS arrived yesterday and I ALREADY have questions - which I will direct to our beloved juicing guru "Juicin John." =)

Thanks so much. =)

I mainly juice Carrots (other than Wheatgrass Juice), and
have found them difficult to push through a twin-gear juicer. My little
centrifugal may not be as efficient as a t-g, but it's easier to use.
Good Luck with your new GreenStar.....WY
P.S. Why don't you post your GreenStar questions here so we can all learn?

I have succeeded in opening the box. ha ha I've been so busy, I'm still just using the Omega. I will definitely be using the GS by the weekend though. I have a huge amount of carrots and apples waiting... I am not growing my own wheatgrass yet so will pick up some more small flats at my local health food store (a pricey way to go which is why I want to grow my own).

I wish I could afford multiple juicers! I will need to decide which to keep and which to sell to my friend.

when juicing carrots make sure you cut them down to a smaller size if the carrots are large evan so i should recommend cuting them to an easy to push through size. make sure you get nice hard crisp apples or you may have a problem with them backing up in the feeding chute. i recommend fuji, and grannysmith as the best ones.

how is your arm strength..the green star requires some muscle power but it depends on how you cut your produce. celery juices really nicely also. i enjoy celery and parsely mixed very interesting flavor. beet top and beets are also good to juice. carrot beet apple and lemon are very tasty together.

a good wheat grass recipe with the green star is "apple wheatgrass lemonade with ginger". very enjoyable to drink.

main ingredients are an apple base with a slice of lemon and a bit of ginger and as much wheat grass as you would like.

juice the wheatgrass first and "wash" it through with the apple lemon and ginger.

it tastes much better than straight wheatgrass. wheatgrass straight can be quite strong to the uninitiated... creating a positive experience in the beginning is important and will keep you on good terms with the wheatgrass drinking on a regular basis.

first impressions are important for long term wheatgrass program.
