I like straight Carrot Juice for taste....the sugar never
has bothered me. I wonder if all the Hype about it is true?
The best combo is a head (or stalk) of Celery, and a half bag of
Mixed Greens. Now that's a nice 'buzz'....WY

I have been digging a combo of Granny Smith apples, carrots, celery, and ginger. The sour flavor and low-sugar content of the apples blends bootifully with the ultra sweet carrots.

i should have been more explicit in stating that
i am interested in how people make their juices more palatable
WITHOUT putting in any fruits or carrots
that was what i was really trying to get at
because the apples are feeling too sugary for me
same with the carrots

i don't care if everyone else is fine with the apples and carrots ( good for them)
just want to know if anyone else has drummed up other alternatives

John Kohler typically adds an apple or pear (but no other fruit) along with a 1/4 limit for leafy greens (kale, collards, etc) using celery, cucumber and maybe a little lemon for his juice. I'd say experiment.

La Veroninique,

I take it beet juice is out for you? It's in every batch of my morning smoothie. Non-sweet fruits such as cucumber, tomato, make great additions. Also, squash, yams, and non-cruciferous leafy greens like romaine lettuce and cabbage.

cucumber
celery
romaine lettuce
parsley
sometimes ginger-

i love cucumber as my base- it's sweet, satisfying, but not sugary.

i'm with you- i don't enjoy carrots. sometimes apples, but not usually.

peace-

Hi mama cass

what a great idea to use cucumber as a base
i like your combo of cuke celery and romaine
very nicesmiling smiley

i was using mostly celery to even out the bitterness
but now i'll put a heaping bit of cukes and romaine too

Paul,

thanks for your postings
i think i'll experiment with yam and squash ( i think i may have juiced them once?)
thanks for reminding me about the cabbage
beautiful sulfur content

seems kind of strange for me to juice yam and squash since they are tuber
but hey... why not?
i think there were some threads on juicing tubers here or there prior

have any other information concerning tuberiferous juice?
benefits... things to keep an eye on... what's so good about it etc.?
