But it CAN buy you a kicking Vita-mix and man oh man, does that EVER make me happy! Woo, this blender makes morning smoothies a dream. Can't wait to make some soups with this lovely beast. Worth every penny, so glad I could finally afford one <3. Thanks life! You're the greatest!

I agree!! Whatever you do over and over again (like Blending)
should be done with the Best. Plus, you'll feel much better about yourself.
I use my Blender daily for Green Smoothies.
A cheap Blender might be justified if you weren't going to use it
very often.....WY

What is love?
Can the child within my heart rise above?
Can I sail through the changing ocean tides?
Can I handle the seasons of my life?

I'm not mad, I don't hold grudges winking smiley. Too much energy.

Actually, I think I'm pretty hard on them. I have a policy of "You're gonna eat it" and I make them too. It goes against all sorts of naturaly parenting philosophy but I just don't get how parents struggle with that level of food rejection every single day!
I try not to prepare foods that I know they really don't like but sometimes they've just got to suck it up (like with some smoothies. Like this morning tongue sticking out smiley). But making sure to give them stuff they find tasty is important too and unfortunately not a lot of raw dishes fall into that category, unless we're talking sweet stuff but just how much sugar am I willing to give them? And eat myself, blech. I get so sick of sweet stuff. I prefer savory or even, to be honest, bland. I don't find it bland, I find it subtle but that is also not a taste group that appeals to kids all that much so... The endless search it is. Sigh.

you right.....you use Raw Sugar as an ingredient of some recipes??

each with a change of just a couple of ingredients, they pretty much taste the
same, time after time.
I've read that children who are High-Raw Vegan don't like natural sugar. It burns their mouths.
Well, this is not a Chat-Room, so I'm out of line, but I just felt like it.....WY

I hope you don't hold any grudges either winking smiley

they are nearly 10 and 3.5. The little one is impossible to convince to eat things she doesn't like but the boy is a bit easier.

Smoothies are the only way to get them to eat raw greens, the boy has recently started to enjoy salad but it must be mild, iceberg lettuce mostly.

I don't use sugar in our foods but eating mostly fruit is too sugary for me and it does affect their behavior especially dried fruits or the very sweet ones like banana, pineapple, cherry etc. Berries are fine, we could eat those all summer long.

They were exposed to so many flavours when I was breastfeeding so it's easier to get them to try different things now but they still prefer sweet above all things. And they will start to balk at smoothies if I make the same thing every time, I have to change the fruit around. Citrus based or berries or apple and pear with maybe a bit of cinnamon but always a spinach/green base.

My son breaks out in cold sores often so we are refining his diet quite a bit and he says he is willing to try some things again that he previously rejected. I'm hopeful, he has a fairly open mind. But he makes the WORST faces of disgust when he doesn't like the taste of something and that is giving his little sister bad ideas about how we react to food. And she's stubborn, oh boy is she stubborn.

You are so lucky! I kind of wish I had just gotten a Vitamix last year instead of buying the Omega 8006 and waiting around to buy a high-speed blender later. I already strain every juice I make in a paint strainer bag so what's the big deal?
