Omega VRT350 - rubber gasket

Hi Everyone!

I just got myself an Omega VRT350 and I am super excited to use it. Everything looks pretty simple, except for one thing. I don't quite get the rubber gasket part.

For anyone who has this machine... can you please help?! smiling smiley

It says "underneath the bowl, there is a yellow rubber gasket which allows all the juice to only discharge from the fresh juice spout. The rubber gasket is removeable, simple grab onto one side of it and pull out"

ok, this is my question

Am I suppose to remove it? What happens if you leave it in?
Also, when I unplug it, since its attached, it looks like it will get in the way. Am I suppose to leave it hanging to the side there?

I am so sorry if this sounds incredibly stupid, but I just don't want to ruin anything on my first use,

thanks so much!

I could be wrong, as I do not own one, so wait to hear what those who do own one say, but I believe the rubber gasket is removable for cleaning, but is supposed to go back on... wait for people that own one to chime in however, lol

It is more of a "plug";

I don't know why they call it a gasket...Anyway, you leave the plug "plugged in" for all juicing.

You only pull it out to clean the bowl, as that will allow you to scrape/dig out that area with the supplied brush/scraper - and also allow water to flush through that area.

It is attached so you don't lose it.

John Kohler has a Youtube video explaining the 'plug' in
the VRT350. I remember watching it, but can't remember what
he said about it.
This may be it.....

The vid that I watched of him awhile back demonstrating the VERT - he mentioned about cutting the plug down a bit so the juicer wouldn't be so prone to clogging. I would not recommend cutting the plug.

Also, that was with the old style or "first gen" VERT; The new models come with a redesigned plug/basket/bowl so that mod is not necessary.
