most cheap juicers are centrifugal juicers. centrifugal juicers have low yield. overtime you will spend more money on produce with a low yield juicer. also centrifugal juicers can't process some of the healthiest foods like leafy grens and grasses.

in terms of price:

press > twin gear > single auger > centrifugal

in terms of yield:

press > twin gear > single auger > centrifugal

in other words it depends on how much you juice, and how long you plan to keep on doing it for.

i would strongly advise you against getting a centrifugal juicer if you are even halfway serious about juicing.

i think the cheapest juicer which isn't a waste of your money is this:

which is a single auger juicer.

I see them at the thrift store for $5 all the time. At that price it would certainly tide you over until you could save for a better one. Check Value village if you have that store where you live. Craig's list is good too. Best of luck!

I got mine off ebay. It was still about $80 but it was a nice Omega juicer, just not the latest model. Works great though and I've found a few good kitchen deals off ebay.

I second craigslist and thrift shops too. Whatever works 'till you can save for what you really want or sweet talk someone into gifting you one for your birthday or something. :-)
