What is your favorite juice to make at the moment?
Posted by: banana who ()

I think mine is apple, celery, carrot, beet, ginger and parsley. The trick is not to overdo any one thing. My boyfriend came home from work sneezing and feeling like he was coming down with a cold. He drank about 16 oz. of this concoction and felt better this morningsmiling smiley Today I will make him "5000-Volt" juice, which I learned about from a video by Angela Stokes-Monarch. It is orange, sweet pepper, hot pepper, celery, and garlic. I have made it before and liked itsmiling smiley Plus I think it'll be good for my sweetiesmiling smiley

I'm favoring Blending over Juicing at the moment. But if I were juicing, it would be Wheatgrass Juice, with water, or Carrot-Celery Juice as a combo.
Speaking of Blending, it just has to be right to include the Fiber. One Green Smoothie meal a day (it's too powerful, if made correctly, to have more than one) combined with a Fruit meal, or a Juice meal, is the way to go...2 meals a day....travel Light for the Long-Haul. How some of you can eat Bananas all day long is beyond me. There's some guy (Durianrider), who posts at the Main Forum,
who does just that.....WY

WY: What do you put in the green smoothies? Because if you combine it with fruit, then I take it that you are not making sweet smoothies? Or are you doubling the fruit?

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I like a Green Smoothie, containing a little sweet Fruit, as a meal in itself....heavy on the Greens. I've just taken up Sprouting, and include a good amount in each smoothie. The second meal can be Fruit....I've been liking Melons here lately.....WY
P.S. BW...How many meals do you eat in a day?

I don't really eat "meals." Of course, it looks like you are close to 100% raw, so it's not even in the same ballpark for me. In the morning I will eat fresh fruit first thing. Then sometime I eat some sort of bread or sandwich. I usually will eat a huge salad at dinner time but I am still eating a fair amount of cooked food. I am getting ready to do an experiment with raw. I have chosen the springtime to begin because spring and summer are when it's easiest to eat light, IMO. Gee, sometimes in the summer I don't want anything but melon and other light fruits.

Today I made apple, beet, carrot, celery, lemon, and...dandelion leaves! And it didn't taste too wretched, either. My boyfriend drank it up and he usually doesn't do bitter stuff if he can help it.

For this week, I have been enjoying the hangover juice. I am on vacation so I have been partying hard lately. I have got no choice, my buddy James is in town.

But anyways here is the recipes.

First this is what you will need

- 1 and half large carrots
- half a lemon
- 2 oranges
- hangover tincture that you can get from the food store

Any regular juicer will do.

Try it and let me know if it doesn't get you back on your feet quick

Here is a video of this recipes [www.juicersuperstore.com]

Basic green juice:

Greens (Kale is my favorite but I use anything--romaine, chard, spinach, etc. etc.)
Celery
Cucumber (I have also used zucchini)
Parsley or Cilantro (I often use both)
1 apple or pear
Lime or lemon
Fresh ginger

Boy, do I love this stuff. I can practically feel my cells doing a happy dance.

I ordered the omega 8004, it looked to be one of the most versatile models in that price range. I'm sure there are others just as good but with the warranty of 15 years, looked easy to clean, and makes baby food etc it just really caught my eye. I hope it's as good as it looked. I will update when I've used it a few times too. This will be my first juicer so I'm very excited about it.

Yeah! It came today, first juicing attempt was ok, just threw in odds and ends from the fridge. It was not bad at all. Seemed to clean really easy, just a few minutes. So far I'm happy with it. Need to get to the store, have to drive 45 miles for organic though on the downside. Juice head in the making smiling smiley

Celery Juice is a natural pain reliever. What I don't use in smoothies gets juiced.
Btw, if you do blend Celery, cut it into 1" to 2" pieces. I've had larger pieces wrap around the bottom of the blades, causing a disassembly to free the strings......WY

Just made a juice from 5 stalks of celery, 8 carrots, 1/2 red bell pepper, piece of ginger, 2 small potatos. I also sprinkled a liberal amount of ceyene pepper over it before I drank it. It was pretty good, not quite as sweet as I'd have liked, my palate has not adjusted yet but still enjoyable. I could feel the health as I swished and swallowed.

I forgot to mention, I chopped everything into small pieces before I started and it seemed to juice better. Loving the 8004 so far as a first juicer. Can't wait to get to the "city" so I can get some greens and hopefully find some wheatgrass. Thanks to all for your advice, it's appreciated as I embark on the first steps of my journey.

I am waiting for grapefruit to go down a bit in price and then I will take advantage of the cheap prices for cranberries and make a juice w/ pink grapefruit, cranberries, and celery...I never tried it before but I bet it's good.

Skuli: I have the 8006; I can't remember what the difference is w/ the 8004...I think they're the same thing but a different color.
