The ICB7 was compared with other commons blenders 3 years ago at a time when the 96 ounce blender was only available on the ICB7 base. [www.youtube.com] Since then, Blendtec has made the 96 oz (3 quart) carafe available for the base HP3A. At $845 plus, the ICB7 is overkill and its 20 amp current requires a retrofit for most kitchen circuits. In short, a whole lot of money and trouble for not much blender benefit. I think ICB7s are unnecessary and not cost-effective. What makes it worth twice the money?

Date: April 25, 2011 10:59PM The biggest fraud in blenders is the "3HP" rating of his Omni V blender. Its 8A - 960 watts. If he really wants to talk about the truth, he needs to start there - his product is missing 10A of power!

He did carry the Blendtec and Waring (I believe), in addition to the Omni V. Did you see the video of him testing 8 Blenders at once? He tripped the Circuit Breaker. If you already have 20 amp outlets, then I understand why you might be tempted to buy an ICB7. They are a quality product, no doubt. That said, I wonder whether the benefit would be in its ability to release phytochemicals or in the durability of the motor? It could be in both. But for example, it's not clear to me that my Blendtec HP3A at 13 amps does any better than a Vitamix 11 amp at breaking open food. It might. But I can't tell. Paul Re: Blendtec ICb3

Yes these blenders were used in Starbucks. Is it suitable for daily home use? Sure why not, it is a bit larger than the regular blender but compares to Blendtec Total Blender with a slightly larger base.
