I received this juicer for xmas and was wondering if others had this one and what their experience has been with it.

The Omega 8003 (white) and 8005 (black & chrome) are older versions of the 8004 and 8006. Your 8005 must be used since its replacement, the 8006, has been out a couple of years......WY

Thanks Paul this is goog info. Do you know what the drum and screen are made of, I am at a disadvantage when it comes to researching this stuff. The Samson Advanced has all these parts made of Ultem I believe. The problem with my old Samson 6 in 1 is that the drum expands when the screen is under a big load wich allows the screen to expand and crack, at least this is my take on it. I say this because a new assembly will last for a while then the screen will break. Then when you replace the screen it breaks much quicker than the original new assembly. Either way the screen is expanding and should be made out of Ultem or stainless steel, this would be much more expensive though and that's why they make it out of plastic I'm sure. I sure wish someone had the experience of bothe the Omega and the New Samson Advanced but it looks like I would go with the omega. Has anyone had the screen break with the Omega?

Nope!! If they break, you're overloading the juicer. Ease off a little......WY
P.S. Pertaining to blenders, I overloaded my Vitamix years ago. It had an automatic shutoff. Juicers don't have that protection.

Thanks for the reply. The Samson is just not built/designed properly and has to babied way to much in my opion. I hope there is no such problems with the Omega even though it is not Ultem.

After doing a little research on the latest Omega 8004 and Samson 9004 juicers, both have good features.
The Samson has more power...200 watts vs 150 watts. The Samson has an Ultem screen, the Omega doesn't. I like the way the pulp is ejected better with the Omega. Both have Ultem augers. My Gut Feeling says 'Omega', but I feel you could be Happy with either. Let us know what you decide......WY

Now only 2 weeks into using my new Omega daily.
So far I cant find one thing I dont like about it,other than the small feed chute.But I understand all juicers of this design have a smaller chute.
This thing cranks out pulp so dry its usually never needed to feed it thru again.
The only thing I wonder is the hole where the pulp comes out.
Its alot bigger than my other auger juicer.
I wonder if the smaller the hole.....the more juice it squeezes out??

That was one of the things that attracted me to it. There's nothing to adjust.
You must be pretty upset with your Omega 8005, knowing there's a better juicer in the 8006 on the Market? The main difference is the Auger. There's also a much neater way to catch the Juice and Pulp. The Juicing Screen remained unchanged. The on/off Switch was moved......WY

I just watched a video of the 8006,and I think I like the 8005 better.
The pulp/juice containers have their own handles,8006 doesnt seem to have that feature.
Looks like and identical machine to me otherwise.

If you saw them both up close, you'd agree with me that the juice and pulp containers of the 8006 are better than those of the 8005. Those little handles are useless.

Compared to the Juiceman Jr.The juiceman Pro,and the Healthy juicer hand crank machine(which is a great unit in itself),the 8005 is wonderful to use.
Thanks for the input,and hopefully this thread could be of some use to someone who is eyeballing an 8005 at a yard sale or something.....

I have the 8006 and am happy with it. I wanted the Green Power but it was just too expensive and I heard that it didn't necessarily handle fruit all that great. The Omega is quiet, easy to clean, and the juice maintains its nutritive value, from what I can see.

Wow. What a nice looking juicer! Thanks Vinny. Still have to sharpen those knives. Ugh. Is it true ceramic knives never get dull?

Your absolute best juicer is a Norwalk but it costs as much az a refrigerator or a used car at $2500 BUT the Omega auger juicers are a good second best. I own the Norwalk and the Omega 8006 and have used a 8005 and I also sell and service both the Omega and the Norwalk juicers. I keep an Omega 8006 for those times I travel bvecawsue it makes great juice and is light weight enough to use in a motel when I travel. If you can't afford a Norwalk then the Omega 8005 or 8006 is a great choice.

I find it to be a great machine.
One thing I want to do is build a huge feed funnel for it,as the one it comes with is way too small.Stuff is always falling on the floor.
I am going to use a big plastic bowl to build it.
I will post pics right here when its done........
