Would you buy a used juicer?

I can buy a Champion Juicer from Craigslist for $80, although I was going to offer $60. The person who emailed me doesn't know how old it is, but said they had it as a back-up for their other two juicers and it has some berry stains on it. It looks just like the Champion juicers I see in photos.

Would you buy a used juicer? I only have a L'Equip one now which is great, but I'd like a better one and I've always heard tell of the Champion ones that you can use to make pasta or nut butters or something or other. On the other hand, it kind of skives me to use a juicer that someone else owned, but I do buy furniture and other stuff from Craigslist and buy used clothes from Good Will.

Let me know ASAP because I'm already communicating with the seller and they're talking about my picking it up. What do you think of the price?

Thanks.

I still have the omega juicer I bought second hand, I think I got it 10 or so years ago. It's works great but I don't use it tons and tons, mostly for frozen fruit icecream. It was a good deal.
Maybe you could get the serial number and check with Champion to see if it can still be serviced if need be.

To me, used furniture & clothes are something to be more concerned with than a juicer. A juicer is not being drunk or eaten from so it's not like there's anything to worry about in that sense. As long as it seems like it's in pretty good condition, it's probably a great deal.

Thanks coco and GilmoreGirl! I thought it over and decided that I want to end up with a good juicer, but not the Champion, so if I got the Champion, I wouldn't be getting a better one down the road. Then I looked on Amazon at the reviews for the Champion - I had the product number - and I read the bad reviews first like I always do and there were a lot of problems with the Champion, so I told the Craigslist person no thanks. I'll have to look at this forum in the future to figure out what's really the best good juicer - maybe the Omega. Also whichever juicer John Kohler thinks is the best one would be the way to go for me.
