Frozen Berries - Yay or Nay?

Are these raw? Do they usually have added ingredients?

I was looking at WholeFoods online specials this week and a 10oz bag of organic frozen berries is $1.99lb .. which is better than $5+ for a small pint of fresh organic berries.

What's the difference if I froze them myself or bought them frozen to throw in smoothies..

Edit- Sorry this was probably wrong forum.

Frozen foods sold commercially are normally blanched (boiled), so they are not raw.

If you freeze them yourself without blanching them, then they will be raw. Although fresh is better than frozen, of course.

Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Ian.
