Re: The Best Juicer for Carrot Juice?

i would like to dispel any confusion for the benefit of new people who are try to secure the most value for the money they invest in a juicing machine.

1. greenstar delivers the highest efficiency of any machine on the market for greens. they other types either seem to "struggle" when displayed side by side to a greenstar... and they do not do hard veggies like carrots and beets any where close to a greenstar.

2. clean up on a greenstar is simple if you are not lazy or negative about the clean up process. just do it is the best advice for a "cleanup mindset". i clean mine in under 3 minutes. its easy!

3. centrifugal machines are the most expensive in the long run. the amount of juice which you will throw away in your pulp-waste translates into enough money to buy a nice brand new greenstar which will give you better juice and save you lotsa money on produce. not to mention all the free stuff which you can forage from nature and get the highest mineral content from.

4. champion will not do grees or wheatgrass, it has very wet pulp, it heats up and is quite noisy too.

5. save yourself alot of grief and buy a greestar from the git go and have something of fquality to last for a lifetime of juicing. yes you may have to replace a part now and then over that lifetime but you will have the "mercedes benz of juicers" to be happy with for a lifetime of juicing!

a toast to good health

To get more juice out of the pulp, with for example a champion, or even a little more from a twin auger, a Wells Press may be used, (sometimes called the Peoples Press. It is basically a hydraulic jack, in a heavy metal frame, with a tray with spout.
It is very heavy and not cheap, but the pulp comes out really dry

The little bit of extra juice is not worth the time
and effort. Besides, notice how much darker the juice is when
the pulp is run through a second time.....a sure sign of Oxidation.

it isn't "run through" a second time -- it is a press -- so no air is introduced

[discountjuicers.com]

according to John's site:

Percent extra juice extracted from pulp of major juicers:

Juiceman 33%-55%
*

Omega/Acme 15%-30%
*

Champion 40%-55%

perhaps you are right that it isn't worth it for most ... but I have one and enjoy it

Why do you go to that much trouble for just a
little more juice? Besides, processing it a second time (with the Press)
only depletes the nutrition.

Quote "Besides, processing it a second time (with the Press)

seems the opposite is true:

see John from discountjuicers.com uses the Welles Press to extract more juice out of carrot and apple pulp that was made with the Samson 9006 Juicer. Find out how the Welles Press can be used to extract virtually all the juice out of your juice pulp.

Yes, John did get 20% more juice from the pulp of the Samson 9006 using the Welles Press. But I wouldn't want to drink that juice. Notice at the 14-minute point in the video how the Welles Press juice is a medium brown color (a sure sign of Oxidation), whereas the juice from the Samson is a bright Orange in color. The problem lies in double processing the pulp....first with the Samson, producing good juice, and second with the Welles Press, which ruins it......WY

I totally believe in pressing because you get more juice. I think those numbers are right. I use the [www.shahogenjuicepresses.com] device for this very reason.

Taylor123 has one, and recommends it on a few threads, while on another thread - he hasn't ordered one yet.
