Gas Pains From Juicing

Hello all,

I've been a semi-raw foodist for a while.

Here's my conundrum:

My body seems to be having a hard time digesting raw juices -- even when I take digestive enzymes.

For example:

Today I made the following juice:

2 carrots
1/2 a beet
1/4 papaya (for digestive enzymes)
1/2 lemon
a touch of maple syrup.

I then took a couple of digestive enzymes (papain).

About an hour later I get gas pains -- either that or they are kidney pains -- lower back. They usually pass in a few hours, but they are quite uncomfortable.

I also get these when I drink apple cider.

Any thoughts? Could this be a food combining issue? Is there a way I can strengthen my digestion to process juice more effectively? Anything I should be adding to the juice.

Any feedback would helpful.

L

hi lunimaia

i am purely guessing....since iam not a doctor.

but ...in view of the fact that you add a small amount of maple syup to your blend..i am guessing that you really like sweet tasting things..as most all of us do.

sometimes the taste for sugar increase to the "almost craving" leval when candida albicans fungus infections are present....and believe me they are extant in epidemic proportions due to the widespread uninhibited use of antibiotic medicines. antibiotics kill off the good bacteria as well as the bad and leave a barren biological landscape in the aftermath...the opportunistic candida fungus is one of several types of pathogenic microrganisms which move in to "occupy the territory". just like weeds in your garden....exept some weeds are juiceable and have nutritional value...whereas the candida is just a dumb ole fungus "lookin' for a home". (kinda reminds me of an old folk song about the boll weevil in the cotton patch.)

anyways ...back to the gist of our thread ...

here is what may be happening....when you drink juices which have high carbohydrate content...not to mention the extra maple syrup and possible adverse food combinations in your diet .....and once again the sweet things we all love....the fungus thrive on them and gas, bloating and flatulence may happewn after ingesting your juice combinations.

candida is difficult to test for medically since it belongs in the body and everbody has a little bit of it in their body...it is when it get out of proportion that we notice the problem. most doctors refuse to see the connection between antibiotics and candia overgrowth and are very blase about the whole idea. you need a specialist who is open minded enough to acknowlege the problem and candida's relationship to the rampant use of antibiotics. i know of one allergy specialist in my area who is honest in his practice of the healing arts and goes against the grain of medical establishments ignorance about candida. dr. crook has witten several books on candida and how to fight it.

bottom line you have to quit feeding the fungus the sugar it loves and craves,
juice fasting on green juices is one way of starving it out of your system..thai ginger is also an antifungal herb which you might start adding to your juices (very much like regular ginger..i believe it is call galangal also). ridding candida from your body will require an intense discipline on your part... that is if candida is what is causing the gas pains you you have from juicing.

i wish you sucess in your challenge.
