juicer for newbie

Hello,

I am new to the raw foods diet and am trying to determine what I should buy to get started. I am considering a vita mix 5000 for juicing, but have not decided yet.

Does anyone have any advice on hardware I should have to get started with a raw diet and juicing? Any help, advice, or comments are appreciated.

I just purchased the following books:
12 Steps to Raw Foods
The Raw Gourmet

Thanks.

A friend of mine has a vita mix and she loves it. She does use it for juicing too. I had one for about a week and it work well, but it was returned because of cost.

My wife really wants one, but we already own a blender, and a food processor. I am wondering if we should get an actual juicer, or get rid of the blender/processor and get a vita mix.

I have be told the item that tries to do it all isn't worth owning and you're better off getting specific items for the task.
