Date: December 15, 2007 02:56PM I have recently started growing my own wheatgrass and now have a house wide phorid fly situation. How do I get rid of them?! and How do I prevent them from retuning? Thank you! Re: HELP! Fly infestation in my wheatgrass

my guess is that that somehow the eggs were present in the soil or seed which you are using and that they hatched somewhere along the way to give you the probelem you have described. try tempting them into a bucket or bowl of fruit or veggie scraps and sneak up on them with a wet towel or large rag and throw it over the top of the container when they are freasting on the scraps. open the doo and walk them some distance away from your house and set the bucket on the grownd and rmove the towell or rag and turn them back to nature. i do this all the time with fruit fly which gather in summer months around my indoor compost receptacle, good luck juicin' john Re: HELP! try about 250 degrees or so. that should sterilyze it. jj Re: HELP! Fly infestation in my wheatgrass
