Date: August 11, 2006 09:53AM Hi Armijo,
I have a little manual juicer, so I first have to cut the carrot in little pieces (or grate it in the food processor) and then put it through the juicer. I guess it depends on the juicer you have. Carrots are quite hard so I don't know if there are other juicers that juice them imediately without chopping them first. Good luck! Sabine Re: juice a carrot

Date: August 15, 2006 12:02AM Thanks for the info. I have a citrus juicer so I guess it won't work. I've seen a few recipes that say to juice the carrot. Maybe I should try to shred it first then put it in my blender???
I'm new to all of this - not as easy as I thought it would be. Re: juice a carrot

Date: August 15, 2006 06:36AM I've been juicing carrots for 7 years. I use a Green Power ( called Green Star now). I also have a Champion which juices them easily. I wouldn't use the centrifugal type of juicer myself-- too much is left in wet pulp and loss of enzymes. I usually juice about 6 carrots for an 8 oz glass. i often add 5 leaves of lacinato kale or romaine to it for an extra push. I have been drinking 2 glasses a day for 7 years and I'm in perfect health ( I'm 100% raw). I actually cured my breast cancer using 1 and 1/2 quarts a day for several months and gradually decreased over the years. I buy 50 lbs at a time from New Seasonschain ) like Wild Oats-- they do it too) and get the case price for 10 ---5 pound packages-- usually from $25-$28. Fits better in fridge and better quality and slimmer than the huge bags of carrots. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
