How about experimenting with sundried tomatoes by turning them into a paste and add some raw organic honey. You could add some distilled white vinegar or apple cider vinegar and sea salt to taste. Not sure what else is typically in BBQ sauce but think I listed the major flavors in BBQ sauce.

Ok, thanks. Can you post the recipe here. I don't have his book. And I don't want to buy it for just one recipe. Since you have the book then it would be nice and polite of you if you would share your one book recipe with the group.

sure...

1c tomatoes, chopped
1/4c chopped onion
1/2c sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
3/4 teaspoon minced jalapeno
4 fresh basil leaves
1/2c mejdool dates, pitted
olive oil or fresh tomato juice for blending
1/4c nama shoyu or 1 teaspoon celtic sea salt

combine above ingredients in a food processor or a blending jar and blend. add a little tomato juice or olive oil if the sauce is too thick to blend. stir in nama shoyu or celtic sea salt, and olive oil. keps for 2 days.
