Casein in wax coated fresh fruits and vegetables

has anyone ever heard of this? I just read this today - SCARY! Apparently it is very common...???

I know commercial fruits and veggies often have wax to shine them up - aside from organic and farmers markets which isn't an option 100% of the time - how would one know?

(casein is a milk derivative as most know but thought i would put that here just in case)
