Substitute for dehydrator mesh tray
Posted by: Anonymous User ()

I recently bought a Nesco FD-60 dehydrator and I am in need of mesh trays for drying most things that I want to dry. To get 2 Clean-a-Screen mesh trays from Nesco would cost about $20 CDN so I'm looking for something that can be a good substitute. I tried to get the stuff that window screens are made of but couldn't find that stuff.

Are the company's trays worth $20 CDN or can I spend less than $20 in time and in money to make something myself?

I'd use the trays made for a dehydrator, as they're more foodsafe than another type of plastic mesh you may come across. If you are not dehydrating very, very wet concoctions, try using untreated bamboo tatami mats(for sushi rolling) with a more open weave. Good luck!
