Dehydrating Essene bread, not working
Posted by: Anonymous User ()

I tried to make sprouted-kamut Essene bread in the dehydrator (my first time!) and I had a problem - the top quarter-inch or so of the spread-out batter was dry but the batter below that was not dried at all. This made flipping the batter difficult and messy. My dehydrator was set to 105 degrees.

Maybe the batter was spread too thickly. I think I had it about one half-inch high on the Teflex sheet. Or maybe the temperature was too high. Is 105 degrees too high to avoid this problem? Thanks in advance for your help, folks.

yes it was probably too thick .. also to flip it i find the easiest thing to do is just before you want to flip it lay another sheet on top of it .. grab the whole thing flip it onto the new sheet and there ya go smiling smiley

10-4, I will make it less thick next time. And I'll use your handy flipping method. Thank you, Jodi!
