Dehydrator -exactly what are they?

Date: July 18, 2009 12:59PM Hi, I am new to this lifestyle and have heard a lot about this machine. Would somebody mind telling me exactly what they are used for? They sound very interesting. I remember them from the old days but all I can remember them being used for was fruit. Thanks for your help. Re: Dehydrator -exactly what are they?

a dehydrator sucks all the water out of food so it is dry that's the long and the short of it people use it for all sorts of things veggies, nuts, fruits, u name it hope that was a good answer Re: Dehydrator -exactly what are they?

Date: November 24, 2009 12:31AM I have carrot crackers in my excalibur right this very moment. I am also going to make the crust for my raw pies in the dehydrator tomorrow. I go through spurts using my dehydrator. Some weeks it sits empty all week, others it runs all week. I wouldn't be without mine though, or my food processor, or my vitamix, absolute must for a raw kitchen!
