Blended Salads

Since I am healing I need more nutrients and I took a Dr. Gian Cursio's advice and started making blended salads. Blended gives you up to 5 times more nutrient than what you can get by grinding the ingredients with your teeth.

I blend 1 tomato, 1/2 cucumber, 8" of celery, 6 or 7 leaves of Romaine Lettuce in a VitaMix 5000 and have that for breakfast and for lunch with juice and fruit.

The blended salad tastes pretty good. I have added avocado which made it nicer. I have also added ginger and curry, just a little bit, which makes it different. You can experiment. The point is to keep it vegetable (the tomato is botanically a fruit and so is an avocado but they work in this veggie delight). Keep it organic if you can and definately keep it fresh ingredients.

Yes! Avocado is pretty rockin in there... also, some lemon/lime juice. Curry is a good idea. All the flavors are mixed together and it tastes great, along with being easier to digest.

I make mine in my food processer. This way I can "partially" blend it, maybe 60-70%. I like it this way, and it still offers itself to chewing.

Another good thing to do is put the blended salad in a leafy wrap, such as a romaine leaf or collard green. Yeah!
