Date: October 23, 2009 12:09AM All over the web, I am reading posts about blended salads and until recently, I thought that was what a green smoothie was. But, apparently I was wrong. What is the difference? Today, I blended the leftover salad in our frig which consisted of spinach, portabello mushrooms and grape tomatoes. I also added about twelve dark grapes for sweetness. Is this a true blended salad or is this another green smoothie recipe? It was definitely green and I loved the flavor, Everyone that knows me thinks that I am nuts, but I am growing fonder of the taste of veggies. Is this normal? Deb Re: Green Smoothies Vs. Yes, that's a blended salad. I do something similar though with a juicer, recombining the pulp and some of the juice (my blender went kaput). Adding fruit is optional when making a blended salad. Mmmm, the grapes sound good. Blended salads are something commonly eaten with a spoon or fork, seems to me, though I've added enough water to make it drinkable before. Green smoothies are fruit based with greens added to taste and are usually of a drinkable consistency. Does that sound like what you've been reading? Re: Green Smoothies Vs. Date: October 25, 2009 10:20PM Hi Loeve,
Yes that makes sense, I tend to enjoy the blended meals because they are quick, it seems that I am always on the go. I am just surprised at the fact that I am craving less fruit in these drinks now, the taste of most veggies does not bother me. I actually enjoy them and it is a very quick way to hydrate and get some nutrients. Thanks for clearing that up for me. I have learned so much in this forum, Thank you : ) Deb Re: Green Smoothies Vs. You can drink a soup, you can eat a smoothie with the spoon. It's all good. And tasty too. Simple Raw Recipes & Health Tips Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
