Can I freeze dates?

Date: May 05, 2010 08:14PM At a Turkish store in my town they have dates on sale. I bought 1-2 kilos because I use them for making cakes. Can I freeze them and thaw them just in time when I make a cake? Or are they not tasty anymore, when they have been frozen? Who has tried this and can share their experience?
Thank you for your answers. Helen Re: Can I freeze dates?
