just trying to figure out whether porridge oats are raw or not? I'd soak them overnight in nut milk or water and then top with fruit, cinnamon etc - is this okay?

They aren't raw but you can get oat groats which are the whole grain, not flattened. You would have to check and make sure they weren't heat processed though.

As usual, coco is right. Groats are what you want. But many oat groats are heat processed and therefore won't sprout. Here are some sources of raw sproutable oat groats you can try!

If you go elsewhere, which is fine, make sure they are raw and not heat treated. For example, Bob's Red Mill oat groats are not sproutable, have been heat treated, steamed. Best of luck.
