Teflex Sheets

Are they really necessary when using your dehydrator? Couldn't I just use wax paper?? I inherited a dehydrator, and it does not have the teflex sheets, so I was wondering if I had to buy them or if wax paper will work.

I too had trouble finding them. I'm trying out the wax paper today for some flax crackers. I'll let you know if the dehydrator blows up LOL

I started using unbleached parchment paper when i realized that the teflex sheets are made with teflon. It works just as well, no sticking, in fact it seems to actually decreases the dehydration time.

You can try using things like:

parchement paper
wax paper
saran wrap

instead of the teflex sheets. I prefer parchment paper, but stuff can stick to it. They are now selling "silicone" sheets, "paraflex ultra" that are silicone non-stick sheets (resuable)
