Can I freeze carob powder?

I just bought raw carob powder, 500g because it was twice cheaper to buy in bulk. The label says it is good until 05/2013, but also that after opening it should be consumed within 2 months. There is no way I can use all the powder that quick, it's more likely to last me a year eek. So I was wondering can I freeze it, will this not harm it and will it preserve it?

it lasts fine for months in the cupboard. just clumps a little bit but doesn't change flavor at all.
