are quick oats raw?

Are quick oats raw? Or should I use regular oats? Or should I avoid oats?

I get so hungry in the mornings. It was always the meal with the most. So I'm looking for ways to get my mornings going, but don't feel like nuts or fruit.

I love oats. Quick oats are not raw, probably most oats you buy in stores are not raw. They doesn't keep long in the raw form, so they are denatured. I bought some raw oats online, I forget where, there have been some other threads about oats and I seem to remember somebody finding a site with excellent prices (maybe search for the thread).

Cheers,
Ian.

You can get whole oat groats and sprout them. My grocer sells them in bulk for cheap.

The whole idea of quick oats is that they are pre cooked to speed things up for people!

Oat groats have been steam processed before they are sold, so even "oat groats" are not raw.

Quick Oats are not raw either.

Try eating ground flax seeds instead. Yummm.

You can buy raw oats at some places online. There was a thread about it a few weeks back and somebody posted a link to really cheap raw oats. The ones I bought I was able to sprout without any problem. Sprouting is always a good way to see if they are really raw and is also a good health test since raw oats do go off quickly (3 months or something).

Cheers,
Ian.
