Fast Easy -No BS- Raw Food For Beginner

Hi

I usually make dinner in less than 5 minutes. I am not interested in cooking ... but I am interested in raw food.

I don't have time to blend up a terrine of exotic organic ingredients, nor to go hunt around specialist shops to find them.

I am also looking just to eat. I want it to be simple. Not some kind of new-age fetish I spend my whole life thinking about. I just come home from work, I want to eat something healthy that's all.

I don't have time to 'try out different recipes'.

There is a local wholefoods shop that is not very big, but pretty good.

So how do I do it ?

If I eat : 1 avocado and 3 tomatoes and a bit of tofu - is that enough ? Is that raw ? Does tofu count as raw ?

Things that I like that require no preparation : cucumber, tomatoes, onions, houmous, tahini, tofu, avocado, peas, green beans.

If I just mix a few of these up every day is that raw food ?

thanks for any advice

A really great resource is Jennifer Cornbleet, check out her instructional videos on youtube and if you like her she has books and DVDs available. She uses a minimum of easy to find ingredients and short prep times to make really tasty looking dishes.

"Is that raw food?" - generally raw food is food which have not been heated over 41C, its that simplesmiling smiley

About whether your suggested menu is enough, this is very easy to find out. Google cronometer, or my fitness pal, or any other similar online resource where you can enter whatever you have eaten and see the breakdown of nutrients. This way you will know straight away whether 3 tomatoes and a bit of tofu is enough.

I'm a fan of simple. I do some food prep on the weekends to last me through the week, but even then, I feel like my body is usually asking for the simpler things, like fruit by itself, smoothies, salads (if you hate it, you're eating the wrong salad), and 2-3 ingredient recipes.
