Sunflower seeds for Cashews

Date: August 02, 2017 12:04PM I have read about people substituting sunflower seeds for cashew nuts. This idea is appealing to me since sunflower seeds are a lot less expensive, and I have been hearing that many nuts are not truly raw. My question is are the recipe measurements adjusted for sunflower seeds. IF a recipe calls for 1 cup of cashew nuts do you use one cup of sunflower seeds or do you use less because they are smaller. If anyone has made this substitution I would appreciate your feedback. Re: Sunflower seeds for Cashews

Date: August 31, 2017 07:58PM I've tried substituting sunflowers for cashews, and I wasn't happy with it for certain dishes, for example, when you want a creamy dairy taste, because sunflowers are more bitter than cashews. For some some applications, like making raw burgers, sunflower seeds work really well. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
