Chips with no dehydrator ??
Posted by: Anonymous User ()

Greetings all,
I am dying to have chips and salsa. I think I have the salsa portion covered (I have a Champion Juicer), but does anyone have any recipes for corn or tortilla chips that *doesn't* require a dehydrator?

Thanks!

The only other way I know other than using a dehydrator is to try experimenting using your oven on the lowest temp and drying out your cracker batter that way. Another suggestion is to use hard veggies cut thin on a mandolin slicer for making fresh vegetable chips. Jicama, carrot, zucchini or beet sliced medium thin could be used as "chips" for dipping in your pates or guac totally
by-passing the dehydrated chip thing altogether.
...And yes, an Excalibur is the best investment you can make on the raw journey other than your juicer. smiling smiley

I found, when culturing my own tempeh, that my oven with just the light on and door closed would reach 90-100 F. To be sure, you could pick up an indoor/outdoor thermometer and put the outdoor part in the oven to monitor it.
