Date: April 29, 2006 05:37PM Greetings All,
Does anyone know if raw kamut or spelt or rye flakes can be eaten as a breakfast cereal? Do they need to be soaked first? Also, any recipes for raw cereals incorporating any of these ingredients would be very much appreciated! Thanks! Re: kamut/spelt flakes

The grain would have to be whole. You could eat the flakes but they wouldn't be as "live", meaning the enzymes would be there. Soaking the flakes/kernals/seeds would make them easier to chew if you cannot sprout them. I don't have any recipes as I typically don't eat grains for breakfast, just fruit. Good luck, Therese Re: kamut/spelt flakes
