Date: May 07, 2006 02:56AM I have organic raw almonds, sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds.
How do I sprout them? Is it necessary to sprout them? Re: How are nuts to be prepared?

-Necessary? There are no raw food police. Many feel that soaking them makes them healthier. I've tried them just about every way. I DO think soaking them is a little healthier and easier to digest. -You can certainly do the research and decide for yourself the amount and types of nuts you think are healthiest - and to what degree you want to soak / sprout them. -I definitely had the most luck with sprouted shell-less sunflower seeds. Very good when sprouted....or grown into sunflower greens in soil or vermiculite. -Rock on! -David Mason Re: How are nuts to be prepared?

-Small seeds (like sunflower seeds) are great because you can actually see them form a plant. -Almonds and other nuts really just soak up water. So: Not every nut 'sprouts'. Some merely.....uh...swell. Heh..heh... -David Mason Re: How are nuts to be prepared?

There's a great sprouting guide on this site here: [www.living-foods.com] I've printed it out and posted it in my kitchen to help remind me of some of the best practices. trrish Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
