raw potluck dinner in BOSTON!

Hello everyone,

Are you a "raw/living foodie"? Are you interested in the raw food diet?
Just curious?

I am organizing a raw food potluck dinner gathering once a month.
It will be the third Thursday of the month.
The first three dates are set!

Thursday, September 21
Thursday, October 19
Thursday, November 16

location:
Spontaneous Celebrations
45 Danforth Street
Jamaica Plain, MA 02130

(near the Stony Brook T station- ornage line)

Please prepare a dish that will serve 6-8 people. Please keep it vegan and raw.
It could be as simple as sliced up mangoes. It could be more complicated...almond, banana pie. Let your creativity decide!

$5 donation to help with the cost of renting the facility.

If you decide to not bring a dish, there will be an additional fee of $10 (that is about the cost of preparing a raw vegan dish for 6-8 people.) Also, please e-mail me and let me know, so I can buy and prepare more food!

Any questions?

This may be implied, but I just want to make sure . . . is it ORGANIC raw vegan?

Hi Butterfly_Imagines,

The organic piece would be an ideal, but if someone brings fruit that isn't organic and lets everyone know, then that is fine.

I suggested that people write abotu their dish on an index card so everyone knows what the deal is.

Hope this helps.

If you send me your private e-mail, I can mail the flier to you.

Hope to see you at the potluck,

lovely! I hope my food prep improves by then! I am slowly getting back into raw after falling off the wagon something fierce, and this sounds like a positive motivator for me

(I am in Central Sq, Cambridge)

Oh wow! My college is only like forty minutes from Boston.
I'm moving to Amherst next week, and I'd love to come to the potlucks, I've never met any other rawbies!
However, raw recipes usually give me stomach aches, and as a broke college student I can't afford the donation.
Are there any other raw events in the area? I'd love to meet some rawbies, or even just get recomendations for stores/markets etc. in the area.
peace,
mallow

Hi Emily,

I look forward to meeting you at the potluck. Don't stress about making something big and fancy. Sometimes simple is just what is right.

That goes for you, too, Mallow. A bag of organic apples would be just fine.
There is a charge for the potlck because I have to rent the space from Spontaneous Celebrations.

Maybe we can find a free space in the future.

Hope to see you there. There isn't much raw stuff going on in Boston yet. let's change that.

Emily, I am an artist at Out of the Blue Art Gallery in Central SQ. and I volunteer there a few times a week. I usually run into the Whole Foods across the street at least once a day, when I'm there.
