Date: January 06, 2009 03:13AM Hi everyone, Just joined last nite and looking forward to exploring this site.
I'm slowly adding raw foods to my diet. I've not been a vegetarian, but have been eating fairly healthy after learning I had high cholestrol in early 2007. I brought my numbers down 72 points on my own in 6 months by eating right, exercising, quitting smoking. I want to bring it down more, be healthy, and lose weight. I'm 51. I have been eating healthy - low fat, lots of fruit and veggies, no "white" bread, rice or pasta, etc. for just over a year. Then this holiday I "pigged out" and realized how horrible I felt! I ran across an article about Raw diets and decided to try it - slowly. Right now I'm aiming for about 50% of my diet. Today so far so good. The only thing I didn't have raw was homemade soup. And Wine. I'm not sure I'll EVER give up my wine. So, right now I'm searching recipes to keep things interesting. Re: New member from Austin
