Hey, that's great. Welcome! Hope it goes great for you.

Knowing what you want from changing to raw food may help others to give you comments that would be relevant to your goals, but here are a few ideas, anyway:

A good site to check out is [www.rawforlife.co.uk]

For a few days, enter what you've eaten on www.fitday.com and see what the percentage of fat, carbs and proteins are. It'll also let you see what nutrients you're getting.

If you want raw recipes, this site has lots of them. You get to them from the home page. Other recipe sites are
www.goneraw.com
www.allraw.com
www.fromsadtoraw.com/RawRecipes
Of course there are lots of other sites. And I can send you some recipes if you'd like. Although I started out with recipes, now I eat much more simply:
lots and lots of fruit (whole fruit, smoothies, etc)
lots of green salads with some vegetables for vitamins and minerals
some nuts and seeds (I'm sparing with those to keep fats about 10%).

You'll get differing advice from different people, so you'll need to read, experiment and do what makes sense to you. For example, not everyone will agree with me, but I suggest you avoid cacao, oils, and agave.

Best wishes! See you around the forum. smiling smiley

green smoothie is your new god. Greens are the food that humans are not eating enough of. greens, green smoothie, salads. THEN a little bit a this and a little bit of that. If weight loss is a goal of yours, eat very low fat for a few months. the fats you do eat should be things like: avocado, soaked seeds, hemp seeds, hemp oil flax seeds flax oil or chia seeds. i went raw in september and have lost 140 pounds so far!
earth is green, we are earth's tenders. we need to eat green.

The Raw Lion 440 pounds to 225 pounds!

I am new also. This is day 27. My advice is thus...

DO NOT beat on yourself if you deviate from raw food.
Trust your instincts. You will be amazed at how creative you become with recipes.
Remember that you do not need to go 100% to reap benefits.
Join Twitter.... there are TONS of raw foodies there!
Remember to brush yore teeth a lot more if you are eating more fruit!
Join every site and forum you can handle so you can get more information!

Good luck! I lost 32 pounds in 27 days and my blood pressure is down to a normal rate.
