Hey girls, you look fantastic. How long have you been raw?

Thanks so much!! I started eating mostly raw in August '06.

made a cold turkey transition from a vegan lifestyle in january of 05. before that I was vegan for about three or four months, and before that I was vegitarian on and off since I was about idk 9 or something. Never been a big meat eater. I don't think there was ever a time in my life where I ate meat every day. However, I can think of plenty of meat eaters that were healthier then I was with the smoking, drugs, poor nutrition, self abuse, sedative lifestyle, ect.

I was just browsing the internet about durians (which i sometimes like to do!) and came across this, don't know if it helps:

In answer to the question: "How long have you guys been raw?"

I am not 100% raw yet; I'm still transitioning. I am currently at "high" raw, low-fat vegan cooked. Which translates into first and second meal raw, evening meal cooked vegan.

Pakd4fun and I have plans to attend the Raw Spirit Festival in Sedona in Ocotober of this year and I intend to have at least seven weeks of 100% raw under my belt before we embark. I'm looking at initiating this in May, after my 50th birthday. Seven weeks will, hopefully, afford enough time to move past the weirdnesses and difficulties of the transition, while granting enough time to feel the benefits so that I can make a sound assessment of how raw works for me.

Thanks for saying that we look "fantastic". I agree that we look very happy. But frankly, all I see when I look at the pic is my double chin! LOL

A big part of this journey for me is about moving into greater body self-acceptance. Posting this picture was a big step for me in that direction. There would have been a day when you couldn't have paid me to display my image to the world. My family has to hide photos of me as I tend to "steal" and destroy them.
It's not that I hate what I see in the mirror; it's photos in particular that I dislike of myself. I'm always hoping that I don't really look like that, ya know?

Thanks rawrr...you are soo sweet....your pictures were amazing as well!! you are beautiful......you live in san diego too right??? hey do you find it hard to grow veggies??? like in an apartment setting or do you live in a house?? i want to grow some of my own things and since i think if i remember correctly you live aroudn here and also grow some of your own things...any tips comments are grately appreciated...thank you much

Ohh thanks Sachelle! I sold my home in the OC (Orange County) and just bought a condo in SD. I love it here, and was raised here. I have a large balcony, so I'm going to grow what ever I can possibly grow.

If you ever want to hit some of these raw vegan restaurants here in SD, let me know! It would be great to have a partner in raw food crime!

Boy this must be the longest post ever!

Gosh, I love how slim people are! Not the 'slim' that is current, but the healthy slimness I remember from my childhood in the 70s. I grew up within a sort of hippie type family and I remember all of the adults looking this way.

It is really apparent when one is slim and healthy, as opposed to being thin from artificial/unhealthy means. Everyone is so good looking on here and you all just GLOW. I love it!
