Advice needed - I need a new body!!!! ;-)

Hi,
I am contemplating going totally raw and am looking for advice!.
I'm 35 years old and have been vegetarian for around 15 years, and vegan for approximately 6 of those years.
I have mistreated my poor body over the years, drinking, smoking, and eating a LOT of junk. I now feel as though I need a change of lifestyle and habits - I aim to not only treat myself a lot better, but also to reverse a lot of the damage.
I have read quite a lot about raw fooding and am keen to give it a go. However, I also want to live as 'simply' as possible, and am on a tight budget. I don't want to buy a dehydrator or expensive blenders (I have a simple electric hand blender). I have also tried some raw recipes in the past and have not enjoyed them very much. Therefore, I am interested in simply eating whole fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds.
I hope that by joining this forum I might learn about any nutritional pitfalls I might need to be avoiding.
So, hi to everyone here, thanks for having me!!!! smiling smiley

I am a Newbie and need help as well. Several years ago, I was on 80% raw for 1 year. I lost sooooo much weight. I am small at present and am afraid to embark on the raw food diet. I do not want to lose a lot of weight.

I need a simple program with foods that do not need a lot of prep time. Can any raw food veteran post a list of foods and quantities for daily consumption?
Thanks In Advance

Glitter,

Congrats for pursuing your health. I recommend going to the www.beyondveg.com site and reading some of Tom Billings articles. One of the dangers people fall into, sometimes, is getting unbalanced and then quitting because problems start kicking in. The site is full of a lot of very good stories.

The most important step in pursuing health is cutting out the junk. By junk, i mean refined sugars and flours, processed foods, etc. From there, the rest is gravy, if you will. That's just my opinion. I have MS - i've regained so much energy pursuing about 80% raw, and have fine-tuned a lot over the years.

good luck to you,

trrish
