Any co op recommendations in MA/RI/CT ?

I'm looking for places to buy cheaper food that would actually be worth it.

The one I go to costs me about $15 in gas because of where it is, the only thing I buy there are fruits and vegetables..anything else in that store is too high priced compared to Whole Foods. And on top of that, to get the stuff even cheaper you have to pay for a membership. It's not worth it unless you live in that town.

Shaw's has a New England Grown program where you can get local farmers produce at their chain stores, which I liked when living in the Newburyport, MA area. Their other produce is good too....just had a pineapple from there that was field ripened quality..amazing!..my brother picked it out and was recommending it.

There's no co-op or Shaw's near where I live now (southeast MA)....the local Stop&Shop has organic carrots-.80/lb, org.kale-1.39/lb, org.apples- $5/4 lbs. and quite a bit more. I like it a lot.
