sprouting rice

I thought I'd try sprouting rice, so I searched and found this about making hatusga genmai (sprouted rice):

it suggests sprouting the rice in heated water (30-40 C, 86-104 F). I imagine this is so that it will be warmed enough to be like cooked rice, but cool enough to be able to sprout. But, do you think it might be a good idea to try sprouting grains this way, in 86 degrees fahrenheit water?

Another interesting thing is that people who make a living selling you tea say that soaking the rice in tea instead of water preserves a beneficial nutrient (allows you to avoid rinsing the rice as much while soaking). What do you think?
