Wheatgrass question

When growing wheatgrass, it is suggested to cover sprouts that are on the soil for the first time with unbleached paper towel or jute or something, are there any other good options for this? Isn't standard paper towel white, and bleached? Suggestions are appreciated.

I don't bother to sprout the seed (too much
work)....just soak for 8 to 12 hours, then plant. I cover
the soaked seed with a thin layer of Potting Mix, then mist
to keep it damp. I've never used Paper. In a couple of days
the Grass starts poking through....WY
