Red beet sprouts

Date: September 05, 2010 10:07PM There is this microfarm from Downstate IL and they sell various sprouts at my local farmers' market. Yesterday I saw these intensely magenta-colored sprouts (in dirt, by the way) and inquired about them. They were beet sprouts and she said that they came from regular beet seeds. I asked her if you can sprout them via the jar method (no soil) and she didn't know. Has anyone tried to sprout them in a jar? I am very intrigued by trying to grow them!
