So why not just put seeds in the window sill?

Date: March 13, 2013 11:42PM Ok, so apparently I had sprouting confused with microgreens. I have done a bit of outside research and found that the whole sprout does tend to be more nutritionally sound BUT.....microgreening indoors is so much easier! I got some soil and old plastic containers and made an activity with my kids on getting good soil and adding kale, turnip, spinach green seeds to the bottom of a gallon jug of milk (yes raw foodies, we still consume some milk). In another pot I have some cucumbers and bell peppers. I basically just put all kinds of seeds in various pots and within 3 days I have little microgreens that are about 2 inches. Perfect for harvesting!
Granted the microgreens don't produce the volume of sprouting (I assume), so why don't you all do greens instead of running though pounds of expensive seeds trying to correctly sprout them? Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
