Detox skin problem

A raw food truck driver on youtube noticed since he has been raw (over a year now) he has noticed his elbox being crusty. His friend (a rawfoodist) told him it was his body detoxing and that what was coming out was toxins.
Does anyone know if that is what happends for real or not.

I experienced a LOT of skin issues as I detoxed from meds I took while replacing dental mercury amalgams with bio-compatible material over 10mos. My skin clears nicely when I do herbal detox cleanse, tea or tonic (I like 'Renew-U-Tea' from the Herbalist). I find drinking 10 oz of water for every 10 pounds of body weight over the day usually prevents/ minimizes/shortens outbreaks. In the last year, I added 'dry brushing' my body (moving up/in towards heart);it's good stimulation to lymph system to do it's natural cleansing thing, plus smoothed bumpy patches/ old scars. In cold/rainy season, I massage in almond oil at night or an hour before dry brushing. Very energizing.
