Date: August 14, 2006 12:27AM Hi,
I have been Raw for a while, over a month actually, but recently I have been having trouble with Asthma and other allergies. I know what the problem is, I have some animal allergies and at times I am in a place where there are several animals (cats), most times the problems are not so bad but sometimes its absolutely horrific (today was one of those times). At my worst I experience a good deal of sneezing with sinus problems, some skin breakouts, and asthma. I wanted to know if anyone had any sugestions as far as treatment is concerned, or knew of any resources I could look into for the natural treatment of these allergy symptoms, especially the asthma. thanks Re: Need help with Asthma and Allergies

I found Some Yogic excercise (ASAN such as pose of camel, Cobra, etc.), Breathing excercise (specially deep breathing from stomach), Meditation relaxation along with some yogic activities (such as Kunjal, i.e., after drinking lot of lukewarm salty water and by pressing the last point of the tongue stomach and chest would be washed of cough. Similarly Jal-neti, i.e., using a special utensil filled with luke warn salty water, it is made to enter from one nostrils and water start coming from another.). All these activities should be under supervision of trained yoga instructure at your localities. Some kinds of foods such as cold food, dairy products etc. should be completly avoided. I had quite serious allergies for many years before going raw...and for about 1 year after. -It's similar to insulin resistance....or any other state where the body is confused...or becomes reisistant. -Eat simpler (mono-eating...and diets of fresh fruits or simple vegetables). You'll have to find the foods that are simple...and do not exacerbate these conditions. Get plenty of fresh air, deep breathing, light exercise, and sunlight every day. Get plenty of rest when your body demands it. Be kind to yourself. -Do not smoke, put chemicals on or in your body.....and remove pets and other irritants from your environment. -Just some suggestions. -David Mason Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
