Foods that stimulate thyroid

Hello
I am in the processes of weaning myself off thyroid meds after having had thyroid cancer and taking meds for 20 years - I still have 1/2 thyroid left and i've learned that it is possible to reactivate and fully function this way. However, my chances of becoming hypo-thyroid are very high and my chance of recurrence are greater (according to the docs) - i'm hoping to just keep myself healthy enough to not get to this point again.

Anyone have any recommendations on foods to avoid or increase? So far i've read that cruciferous veggies decrease production therefore should be eaten in moderation or cooked. On the other hand coconut oil, selenium increase. There is mixed info on seaweed (kelp etc.), almonds & brocolli. I usually just go with my cravings on these one.
Thanks in advance.
miche
