Juicing is ruining my hands: any advice

Date: October 19, 2007 10:12PM I just started doing juicing and food prep for someone who's on the Gerson anti-cancer therapy, and I'm finding it's doing a number on my hands.
My cuticles are so dry they're cracking and bleeding; my nails seem to be softening and chipping (they're usually really healthy), and the skin of the tips of my fingers is chapped and peeling. Any advice? I'm doing olive and seabuckthorn oil during the day, but I can't really use anything on my hands when I'm doing the prep. Thanks in advance, Natalie Re: Juicing is ruining my hands: any advice

Date: October 27, 2007 06:15PM The last couple of weeks I've found that my hands were drying out and cracking, especially the pads of my thumbs. The only thing I've found that seems to be working is to keep my hands dry and and using a good hand cream. This means having to were rubber gloves when I'm preparing fruits and veggies and washing dishes. I hate wearing them because I love to feel what I'm doing but it brought sweet relief within 24 hours. Re: Juicing is ruining my hands: any advice

And Shea Butter is the best moisturizer I've ever used. Pure Shea Butter 100% from Whole Foods or a health food store, no other ingredients. It doesn't sting when your knuckles crack either. Can leave your hands greasy though. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
