Date: December 30, 2010 04:15PM I read the article. And was not terrified. Why? I get the point of these measures: It is necessary to regulate the use of herbal supplements by codifying them and limiting their distribution to trained and licensed sellers/practioners--that way you are less likely to get some milled herb adulterated with cat poo and tainted with lead, for example. Just off the top of my head. Also, it stands to reason that something like these exacting standards would be difficult to implement and that it would take time and a lot of bureaucratic mistakes would be made in the meantime; the testing costs and registration fees are likely crazy, but I wouldn't assume that they're some nefarious attempt to drive mom and pop Chinese medicinal shops out of business, LOL. Inefficiency is just a fact of civilization. And, yes, it is still maddening that pharmaecopia are not re-reviewed as carefully as this, though in the EU, their standards are higher than ours.
It would be interesting to hear powerlifer's take on this, as the most extreme interpretation of the information in this article threatens his livelihood. Re: Europe to Ban Hundreds of Herbal Remedies

Hundreds of Herbal Products to be Outlawed Across EU in Early 2011 Across Europe, hundreds of herbal products are set to be banned beginning this April. Traditional Chinese Medicine herbs will be hardest hit. Read my article to learn why medicinal herbs are being outlawed across the EU and why America may be next: [www.naturalnews.com] Re: Europe to Ban Hundreds of Herbal Remedies

But yeah another part of me is that ill not be able to pay my bills. Re: Europe to Ban Hundreds of Herbal Remedies
